Solar power is growing at an unprecedented rate all over the world. The advantages of solar power are undeniable; the sun offers easy access, unlimited, clean renewable energy. Solar power is now more affordable, flexible and reliable than ever before. Solar power has become a viable option for many businesses; the advantages of using solar are becoming clear. Solar power offers independence from the ever increasing cost of electricity. The use of solar power will also have a positive effect on your companies overall image.
The most common commercial solar applications include remote instrumentation, oil & gas, railroad and traffic lighting. The new 30% federal tax incentive has made commercial solar very affordable. If you are located in a State that has a rebate or an area where the local utility is offering a rebate, its time to go solar! These incentives make solar power extremely affordable; it’s an opportunity that should not be passed up.
The major benefit of a commercial solar power system is primarily seen in Grid Tie applications. Having the ability to produce your own energy allows you to hedge against the rising cost of electricity. Make no mistake about it, energy cost will increase, but if you are producing a portion of your own energy, your production costs are locked. You can obtain tax credits and rebates through the new U.S. business energy tax credit. As previously mentioned, this covers 30% of the cost of the commercial solar system. When combined with tax credits and various incentives the financial benefits of solar power are easy to spot, but let’s not forget about the environment, this is where solar power truly shines. Solar power generates clean power; there’s no pollution or emissions, there’s not even any noise, they are completely silent. Implementing a solar power system at your business will show your customers you are serious about the environment and that your business is making a conscious effort to keep it clean.
The first step in any of our solar projects is information gathering. In order to deliver the best solution you have to know what your customer is specifically looking to achieve. After gathering specific details about the project we will give our initial design. The initial design will allow us to give you a rough estimate on the total system cost.
We will then start our “Solar Incentive Analysis” to determine if there are any other incentives available other that the 30% offered by the federal government. After completion of the Solar Incentive Analysis, we will be able to determine the estimated ROI on your system. We will also be able to give an environmental analysis giving the estimated pounds of CO2 production your system will eliminate each year.
After our initial quote, incentive, financial and environmental analysis have been presented to the client we will need a verbal intent of purchase from our customer to move forward. Once our customer has verbally committed to moving forward we will do a “Site Visit” in order to determine exactly how the solar array will need to be installed.
At this point if the customer wished to proceed we will request a hard copy PO and a signed contract. Following this the installation of the photovoltaic system will start. Installation time varies from system to system but generally speaking it takes 3 to 5 weeks due to product delivery, permits and the local municipality.
Choosing an experienced and professional company with design engineers apt to meet the task is the most important decision when selecting a supplier.
